Pieced Together Show

November 20, 2008

Earlier this week I went to see the Pieced Together quilt show at Marymount Manhattan College. About 12 quilts were displayed in the show, all of them contemporary. Many of the quilts challenged the concept of a quilt. Materials I noticed included paper, chicken wire, and obituary clippings. While the aesthetics of many of these quilts do not reflect those of my proposed quilt, I appreciate how the artists are pushing quilts as an art form.
